The Stormont Trophy

The Stormont Trophy was presented to the Club in September 1999 by the
Civil Service Archery Association in recognition of the contribution made
by the NICSSA Archery Club to CSSC Archery.

The presentation of The Stormont Trophy was discussed at a committee
meeting in October 1999 with the CSAA wishes in mind. The committee
decided that the trophy should be awarded on an annual basis, at the AGM,
to a person who had made a significant contribution to the Club during the
previous year. This in effect means that it will be possible to award the
trophy to someone who is not necessarily a member of the Club. Although
this is an unlikely event the committee felt that it would like to have a
degree of flexibility should the occasion arise. The committee envisages that
the trophy will be presented to someone who has made a significant
contribution through either administrative efforts for the benefit of the
Club or to someone who has achieved recognition through personal
excellence that consequently reflected on the Club.

The committee also discussed as to how the recipient should be selected
and it was agreed that this should be by a secret ballot of all Club members
present at the AGM. Should there be a tie then a second ballot will be held
with voting only being allowed for those who had previously tied. It was
also agreed that the Trophy would
not normally be awarded to a previous
recipient
.
